Keep DCCWiki Advertisement Free

DCCWiki, a community DCC encyclopedia.

We'll get straight to the point: Today we ask you to keep DCCWiki advertisement free!

We depend on donations to stay online and thriving. If everyone who reads DCCWiki gave just a little, we could keep Wikipedia thriving for years to come. The price of a cup of coffee is all we ask.

When we made DCCWiki free and advertisement free, people thought we were silly. If DCCWiki were to become commercial, it would be a great loss to the DCC community.

DCCWiki is a place to learn, not a place for advertising. The heart and soul of DCCWiki is a community of people working to bring you unlimited access to reliable, neutral information.

We know that most people will ignore this message. But if DCCWiki is useful to you, please consider making a contribution of $5, $20, $50 or whatever you can to protect and sustain DCCWiki.

Thanks,
Mitch Schwenk
DCCWiki Founder

Where your donation goes

Technology: Servers, bandwidth, maintenance, backups, domain names, services, software.

DCCWiki utilizes 6 servers to order to perform various functions. This includes front-end firewalls, caching servers, database servers, web servers, and (elastic) search servers. Every server needs to be kept up to date, backed up, and occasionally upgraded.

For any given month, approximately 25-35 thousand page views monthly. Currently there are 4,770 pages within the wiki. Serving this many pages takes resources.

The DCCWiki text as well as the images are fully backed to offsite locations using 3rd party vendors and services.

Neutral point of view: We do not allow pages to be sponsored in order to allow a neutral point of view. DCCWiki prides itself in providing unbiased information.
