The information on scales, model railroading in general, and sound is valuable... but I don't think this kind of information really has anything to do with DCC, does it? We need to keep focused on the topic. Perhaps these pages should be moved to a "see also" status, or some sort of appendix at the end? (Sorry for the previous changes - had to get the hang of what was going on with these talk pages!) Joe Ellis 19:52, 12 January 2006 (EST)

I had this debate with myself about a month ago. Let me know how you feel. but.. *I* think that all these topics are sooo intertwined that they need to be incorporated. For instance - sound. How sound is implemented in a DCC track may differ than that of an analog track...and how to connect a sound decoder up.. How to do it general? Maybe a layout sound system using DCC block detectors to tell a computer where to put the sound. I was just reading a warning about a through the rail sound system when using DCC. Scales.....There are different DCC topics for various scales. Running wires for a garden railray will be different than that for an indoor HO or Z scale.
The reason i put those topic in the book, which you are welcome to change as I don't claim to know all (if you look at my desk, i'm not the one people come running to for organization ideas), is that I wanted to point to general topics of the site. It's all DCC related in someway (may need to make jump to connect the dots). Anyways, let me know your thoughts/feelings. This is a community website, not my website. :-) TazzyTazzy 20:03, 12 January 2006 (EST)
That was why I suggested moving them to an appendix rather than deleting them completely. They're not really DCC topics, but you're right, they are intertwined. Let me think a little bit about this and come up with a good way to integrate them that doesn't "dilute" the main thrust of the DCC topic. Joe Ellis 20:49, 12 January 2006 (EST)
