NMRAnet, S-9.7, is a nascent accessory bus that is meant to complement the DCC or DC control of your trains it is based on the protocol suite from the OpenLCB group. The initial standard, S-9.7.1 is based on the physical layer, which includes the bus speed, wiring, and connections. The remaining protocols are in development, see www.OpenLCB.org.
