See High-Frequency Decoders.
A method of driving the motor with an ultrasonic signal. The user should not hear a high frequency whine that would result from driving the motor at a lower frequency within the audio range.
Some motors will make a lot of noise when driven by a signal other than DC, and this is a method to eliminate this problem.
Silent Drive is a term used by some manufacturers to describe their high frequency drive system.
