If after installation of a multifunction decoder the vehicle runs in wrong direction, the motor connections have been reversed. Simply re-connect them to the correct points on the decoder. With a "drop-in" decoder, this will not be possible, and accessing the motor connections may be difficult or impractical.

Using CV29 to alter the Normal Direction of Travel is considered poor practice, as this feature also impacts the operation of the forward and reverse lighting. CV29 is altered when Advanced Consisting is used, resulting in prototypical operation of the headlights.
